The team behind the best emulator for Playstation 3, RPCS3, has announced that it has added support for PlayStation 3D. This basically means that PC gamers can enjoy some of the PS3 games in 3D mode with their 3D glasses.

Some of the games that work with this 3D mode are Doom3 BFG Edition, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Super Stardust HD. The emulator currently supports only Anaglyph 3D. However, the team plans to add Stereo 3D in a future version.
Also note that RPCS3 doesn’t have any VR specific support as of now. Still, modders/users may come up with third-party tools that could help formatting its output to a VR scenario.
As an RPCS3 developer said:
“In theory, it should be possible to render both layers on different frames for VR, but RPCS3 has no support for 2 GSFrames nor anything similar right now.”

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
