The team behind one of the best Playstation 4 emulators, fpPS4, has updated its compatibility list, revealing that the emulator can now run 144 PS4 games.
Of those 144 games, 108 are actually playable. Still, the fact that the emulator can launch 144 PS4 games is pretty impressive.
fpPS4 is not THE best PS4 emulator right now on PC. In my opinion, that title goes to Spine. Also, from what I know, the PS4 emulator from the creators of RPCS3 is still behind both fpPS4 and Spine.
It’s also worth noting that there are two other Playstation 4 emulators in development. These are Kyty and GPCS4.
For those wondering, fpPS4 can launch the Alpha Test version of Bloodborne at around… wait for it… 1fps. And that’s on its menu. So no, even now, Bloodborne is nowhere to be playable on it.
Other triple-A games that cannot launch/run with fpPS4 are Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo, God of War: Ragnarok and Shadow of the Colossus. So, basically, all of your favorite PS4 games are still unplayable. Well, that is if you have one.
Anyway, it’s pretty impressive witnessing the progress of these emulators. Realistically speaking, I don’t expect to see the aforementioned PS4 games run on them until 2026/2027. And that’s me being generous here.
You can find the compatibility list for fpPS4 in this link. At the search bar, type “in-game” or “playable”.
