In a series of tweets (that have now been deleted) Ian Bell, CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, revealed the first details about Project CARS 4. According to Ian, Project CARS 4 will be using the Madness 2.0 Engine, and promises to be the most realistic simulation ever.
Ian claimed that every leaf will shadow every other leaf in Project CARS 4. As such, we can assume that Project CARS 4 will be using real-time Ray Tracing for shadows. In addition, the game promises to be the most realistic simulation ever, in every way. Yeap, that’s Ian overhyping the game but he at least states that PC4 will return to its simulation roots.
As we’ve already reported, Project CARS 3 had optimization issues. The game looked at times worse than Project CARS 2, and ran worse. Thus, it will be interesting to see Slightly Mad Studios will be able to overhaul its engine.
Stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
