SuperData Arcade has shared its monthly report, claiming that PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite ended the year on a high note. Going into more details, Fortnite had its highest grossing month to date, while PUBG sold 2.75 million units across console and PC.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive has recently went free to play and it appears that this transition was a success. CS:GO hit a new MAU high point for the franchise in its second month as a F2P title. Superdata estimates the free version generated roughly $49 million between November and December.
Furthermore, The Sims 4 benefited from end-of-year promotions. A significant price cut led to a surge in new unit sales on both console and PC however, the DLC revenue on PC declined year-over-year by 10%.
It’s also worth mentioning that Battlefield V fell short during the holidays. EA’s shooter missed out on the top 10 console list this month after selling significantly less than competing shooter titles.
Last but not least, here are the world’s most popular digital games across PC, console and mobile for December 2018.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
