Rockstar has released a second update for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the changelog, this patch features improvements to address issues that resulted in Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing due to Anti-Virus software.
Rockstar Launcher has finally finished downloading the game on our main system. Therefore, we can confirm that the game can launch with Avira in the background. In other words, we did not experience any launch issues or crashes.
From what we’ve heard so far, the launch issues mainly affect AMD CPUs. Still, it will be interesting to see whether the game will also immediately launch on our Intel i7 4930K system.
Alongside the hotfix for RDR2, Rockstar has also released a new version of the Rockstar Launcher. Similarly to the RDR2 update, this new version resolves the anti-virus crashes that gamers have been experiencing.
As always, the Rockstar Launcher will download this latest patch the next time you launch its client. You can also find its changelog below.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
