Relic Entertainment has revealed Earth vs Mars, a turn-based strategy game where humanity must defend itself against a Martian invasion. The game is targeted for release on PC (Steam) in Summer 2025.
For decades, Martians have been secretly visiting Earth, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they’ve returned with a full-scale invasion, and it’s up to a ragtag group of commanders to lead Earth’s resistance. Players will command Earth’s military against high-tech Martian saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors in a desperate struggle for survival.
Humanity’s secret weapon? The “Splice-O-Tron.” This unique device allows players to combine human “volunteers” with Earth creatures, creating powerful hybrid super-soldiers to bolster Earth’s forces. Rain acid from the skies with the swift cheetah-fly, smash through enemy lines with the devastating human-rhino, or strike from the shadows with the deadly squirrel-cow infantry.
Justin Dowdeswell, CEO of Relic Entertainment said:
“We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently. Earth vs Mars is the first of this smaller Indie style game from Relic, published under the Relic Labs label.”
Earth vs Mars promises to have 30 hand-crafted missions. The game will also have a wide array of unique unit abilities. Plus, players can choose from multiple commanders, each with passive and active abilities that dramatically impact their play-style.
Earth vs Mars will support Online Multiplayer and a VS Mode. Moreover, you can expect a Map Editor. With it, you will be able to create and share your own custom maps and scenarios.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
