At this year’s E3, we saw pretty much all of Microsoft’s future first-party titles to be coming to the PC. So, the big question now is: will the next Halo game come to our platform? And what happens with the Halo 5 rumours. Well, we’ve got some good and some bad news. The bad news is that Halo 5: Guardian won’t be coming to the PC (or at least that’s what Microsoft still claims). The good news is that the next Halo game will be released on the PC.
As Phil Spencer told PCGamer:
“Honestly the answer with Halo 5 is, I can go take last year’s game, rework it to go on PC, or I can have 343 look forward in what they’re going to go do,” said Spencer. “You could say I’m cheating a little bit by doing a half thing with putting Forge on PC, because we kind of have the tools working on PC to see what happens, but this is what we did with Forza, with Apex. I said, ‘This isn’t a full Forza game. Going forward, we’re going to bring our Forza games to PC complete.'”
So there you have it everyone. Similarly to Forza Motorsport 6: APEX, Halo 5: Forge will be a free application via which Microsoft will gauge interest for the PC version of the next Halo game. And like Forza Horizon 3, the next Halo game will be coming simultaneously on Xbox One and PC.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
