And this was to be expected. When Capcom revealed that it was officially beginning the development of Resident Evil 2 Remake, we knew that Resident Evil 2 Reborn would never see the light of day. And today, Invader Games announced that its project has been cancelled.
As the team noted, Capcom got in touch with it and asked them to stop development. Now contrary to other companies, Capcom invited Invader Games so they can discuss further ideas about the official Resident Evil 2 Remake.
“Capcom called us up in advance of the announcement and asked us if we would mind stopping the project as they had longer term plans for a Resident Evil 2 Remake. They have invited us to a meeting to discuss further ideas.”
Obviously, this is great news for Invader Games as Capcom recognized its work. Here is hoping that the team will not only influence this upcoming Remake, but that it will be hired by the Japanese company.
