Nathan J Hunt has informed us about a fan-made remake he and his friends are currently working on of Activision’s RTS title, Netstorm: Islands at War. The team has been working on this project for last few years, and has recently released a promo video from it that can be viewed below. It’s pretty cool, so check it out. Here is hoping that the team behind it won’t receive a C&D letter from Activision.
As Nathan stated below:
“I would just like to say that we have been in contact with the original developers at Titanic Entertainment and received full blessing for the fan tribute project from them and they are actively following the progress on the project, we also were in contact with Activision who through correspondence have stated they are ok with the project as long as it remains a free to play and download fan tribute project.”
Sounds great to us. Kudos to both Titanic and Activision for not shutting it down (you hear that Capcom and SEGA?).
All in all, good luck to the team with their project and enjoy the video!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
