Psyonix has announced that half of Rocket League’s sales is coming from the PC. Of course this does not surprise us as Rocket League has been among the best selling games on Steam for a long time.
This information was revealed during an interview with Noclip. As Jeremy Dunham, vice president at Psyonix, claimed when asked about it, the PC platform is responsible for 50% of the game’s sales.
This falls in line with our prediction back in November 1st. As we said back then, Steamspy reported that there were 4.4 million owners of Rocket League. While it was difficult to predict the real sales (as the game had a free weekend), Psyonix claimed that 4 million PC gamers have bought Rocket League.
That’s certainly amazing news and proves that an indie title can become a hit, provided it is good, polished and gets enough exposure.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
