Psyonix has announced that Rocket League now supports an experimental DirectX 11 client on the PC. According to the team, players shouldn’t notice any difference in appearance or gameplay when using this experimental client.
Unfortunately, Psyonix has not revealed whether this new DX11 client offers any performance improvements over the previous client. In my opinion, this is more like a “Quality of Life” improvement and nothing more.
To access this DX11 client, you’ll have right-click Rocket League and select Properties. Then, you’ll have to choose Select Launch Options under the General tab, paste in -dx11, and select OK.
Psyonix has also revealed the official PC requirements for this DX11 build that you can find below.
- Operating System: Windows 7 (64-bit) or newer (64-bit) Windows OS
- Processor: 2.5 GHz Dual-Core
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA 700 Series or better

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
