2K Games and Firaxis Games have updated the Steam store page for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, revealing that the game will use Denuvo. This new Civ game will come out in February 2025. So, we at least know months before its release that it will have it.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is a 4X strategy game developed by the legendary team at Firaxis Games, developers of the Civilization and XCOM franchises.
In this game, you’ll take on the role of a famous leader from history. You’ll build your civilization by creating cities, constructing amazing landmarks, and expanding your land. You can also choose to conquer or work with other civilizations to become more powerful,. Plus, you’ll explore new, uncharted territories as you aim for greatness.
Earlier this month, Firaxis revealed that Civ 7 will not be using the 2K launcher. Not only that, but the devs have confirmed that you won’t need a 2K account for offline play. For online play, though, you’ll need to use a 2K account. Still, it’s at least good to know that the game won’t force you to create a 2K account.
For those wondering, the devs haven’t shared any PC system requirements as of yet. Since the game won’t be out this year, we can assume that we’ll get them in December 2024 or in January 2025.
It will be interesting to see when – and if – 2K Games will remove Denuvo from Civ 7. Will it be 3 or 6 months after its release? Place your bets, everyone.
Stay tuned for more!
