Silent Hill 2 is considered the best Silent Hill game to date. However, and since it was released back in 2001, it’s a bit pain in the ass to run and play it. Thankfully, a team of modders have released a collection of mods that enhances the game and makes it playable to all modern systems.
Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition introduces a widescreen camera, higher display resolutions, removes prominent audio bugs, adds PlayStation 2 quality audio and fog that were missing from the PC version, improves controller support and much more.
Now I want to make crystal clear that these mods will not transform Silent Hill 2 into a modern-day title. The game still feels old. However, and thanks to these mods, it can be enjoyed on wide-screen monitors and on higher resolutions without encountering any bugs or issues.
Those interested can download Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition from here, and below you can find a video that showcases this collection of mods in action!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
