Skyrim has seen a lot of HD texture packs these past months and if you tried to enable some of them simultaneously, you would definitely notice your GPU hitting its vRAM limits. Thankfully, modder ‘AdPipino’ released a great tool called Textures Optimizer. Practically this program does not affect the quality of textures (1% if the original is in TGA / BMP). Texture Optimizer basically compresses (via lossless methods) the textures to a format that takes up less space in memory to avoid slow loading.
In case you were having crashing issues, this tool will help you as your vRAM won’t be overloaded with lots of textures. Moreover, this tool is compatible with ATI, NVIDIA, and i3 intel HD graphic cards.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
