Great news for fans of MOBA games as the beta registrations for Hi-Rez Studios’ upcoming game, SMITE, are now open. PC gamers can go ahead and register for the beta phase at the game’s official website. SMITE promises to be a free-to-play online battleground between gods, where players choose from a selection of mythical gods, join session-based arena combat, and use custom powers and team tactics against other player-controlled gods and non-player controlled minions.
SMITE is inspired by DoTA (Defense of the Ancients) but instead of being above the action you are IN the action. SMITE will feature close third-person camera instead of RTS view and players will be able to move around with WASD instead of clicking on a map. The game will also feature detailed graphics and visual FX, as well as action combat, dodging, and aiming.
SMITE is currently slated for a 2012 release on the PC!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
