Andy Faulk is currently working on a Final Fantasy 7 mod for Fallout 4. This mod aims to bring the entire Midgar map to Bethesda’s RPG, and you can find below a video showcasing it. According to the modder, everything in this mod is based on FF7’s original pre-rendered backgrounds.
The modder is currently recruiting level designers. His aim is to remake most – if not all – areas from FFVII using just Fallout’s stock assets more or less. The modder also plans to add new custom assets and meshes if necessary.
What’s also cool here is that Faulk plans on adding quests. In other words, this will be something more than a custom level. Whether it will also feature characters from Square Enix’s classic RPG remains a mystery.
As the modder noted:
“There will be quests, but so far I’ve just been building up the city structure. The main playable area will be in Sector 8. Quests may take you to other parts of the city however.”

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
