SEGA has announced that Sonic Mania will feature a competitive multiplayer mode. In order to showcase this mode in action, the team released a new trailer dedicated to it that can be viewed below.
From the looks of it, this mode will be similar to the one that was featured in the SEGA Genesis version of Sonic 2. As such, players can go head-to-head with their friends anytime they want. Players can pick between the different characters and race in slightly edited stages in split-screen multiplayer to reach the goal first.
Sonic Mania is currently planned for an August 15th release.
Enjoy!
