SEGA has announced that its classic 16bit Sonic game, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, is available on Steam for free. From today and until October 19th, PC gamers can visit the game’s Steam store page and acquire their free copy.
In Sonic 2, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) has returned, turning helpless animals into robots and forcing them to build his ultimate weapon, the Death Egg. Sonic will have to find the 7 Chaos Emeralds and stop Dr. Robotnik’s evil scheme. In addition, Tails makes his gaming debut in this title.
According to SEGA, all SEGA MegaDrive/Genesis titles now launch using the new SEGA MegaDrive/Genesis Interactive Hub on Steam. This Interactive Hub comes with all new features, UI and Steam Workshop Support.
There is really nothing to add as most of you are already aware of Sonic 2. So, go ahead and acquire your free copy from here.
Have fun!
