Mossmouth announced that the HD remake of Spelunky will be coming this Summer to the PC. Spelunky HD will launch on Steam and GOG, followed shortly by the Humble Store. In case you’re not aware of, Spenlunky is a platformer that comes with fully destructible and randomized levels. Whenever players die, they’ll play a new, randomly-generated set of levels.
The HD version has new graphics, music, zones, monsters, items, traps, and secrets. The controls are much smoother, too, and were designed specifically for the gamepad. We don’t know whether Mossmouth will be able to translate them ideally on the keyboard, so we strongly suggest using a gamepad for it.
The XBLA version featured co-op and deathmatch modes, so we can expect to see those modes being ported to the PC too.
According to the team, the game’s deathmatch has been likened to a platformer version of “Bomberman” by testers, although it’s much faster-paced, with more (and more varied) items and weapons at your disposal.
We should also note that the game’ comes with AI bots for those that want to deathmatch alone.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
