Now here is something interesting. At Denuvo’s official website, there are three companies congratulating it. These three companies are: id Software, Crytek and Square Enix. And while id Software’s and Crytek’s comments are kind of neutral (after all, id Software has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from DOOM), Square Enix’s comment is a bit more… salty?
Square Enix congratulated Denuvo, claiming that thanks to this anti-tamper tech, people now have to buy their games. Ouch.
Here is Square Enix’s full quote:
“Thanks to you for the incredible service your team provide – it’s great to partner with you! It’s thanks to you guys that people have to buy the game.”
Ironically, and as we’ve already stated, even the latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech has been cracked. Still, Square Enix’s quote implies that PC gamers are pirates and that they wouldn’t buy games otherwise.
Guess CD Projekt RED and other triple-A companies don’t share Square Enix’s beliefs, otherwise they’d be out of business right now. Oh the irony!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
