Square Enix has announced that their free-to-play MMORPG, WAKFU, will be released on February 29th to the PC. It’s been almost 8 years after the launch of DOFUS – whose evolution and development continue to thrive – and Ankama is launching a second massively multiplayer online game, set in the same universe. Whilst WAKFU retains some of the basic features seen in DOFUS, gameplay is governed by player responsibility this time around, and the familiar comic and strategic aspects of DOFUS are accompanied by exclusive political and environmental elements.
In addition to this announcement, Ankama is pleased to present the second video in the “Dev Diary” series, in which members of the WAKFU team explore specific aspects of the game and the methods used in their development. Following a first video based on the power given to players, the second Dev Diary episode deals with the theme of the different monsters and enemies you’ll come up against in WAKFU. Game designer Azael and level designer Jimmy explain the ways in which the game’s creatures can influence players’ experience of WAKFU.
WAFKU is currently in open beta phase and you can download its client from here.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
