Modder ‘Red Panda’ has ported the first STALKER game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl to Unreal Engine 5, and shared a Test Build for it. As said, this is a test build and not the full game. Still, it will allow you to get a glimpse at the first STALKER game in Epic’s engine.
From the looks of it, Red Panda has ported the first area of the game. The Test Build already has some dialogue, an AI system, an inventory and a map.
Do note that this build is not that optimized, and uses the original assets. As such, you should not expect it to “wow” you with its graphics. After all, there is a reason Red Panda called it a “Test Build”.
What’s really important here is the potential of this project. In the future, we can expect this to take full advantage of Lumen and Nanite. Moreover, modders will be able to add new high-resolution textures and 3D models. Basically, we might get a free HD remaster/remake of this classic FPS game.
You can download the STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl in Unreal Engine 5 Test Build from here.
Have fun!
