It has been almost a year since Stan ‘The Man” Lee passed away. Stan Lee was the co-creator of many comic book famous superheroes like Spiderman, Thor and Iron Man. He guided Crystal Dynamics, the developers of the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers, in order to create an authentic Marvel story.
Marvel’s Avengers is the forthcoming action-adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix. This is the first time Crystal Dynamics has a project that isn’t related to the Tomb Raider franchise since 2005.
The game is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. The game draws inspiration by the long-running comic book mythology and adaptations in other media. Although it has no connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Stan was a complicated guy. He just loved his characters. We actually asked him, what does he want to do and what is his characterization. We had questions through fans and members of even Marvel, saying, ‘Well, what can we ask him? What is his relationship [with us]? What do we have to do?'”
“The beauty of Stan was that he made these characters because he wants to love them and enjoy them. He had this perception that any comic could be somebody’s first – and that stuck with me.”
“That’s something that we’ve been very keen to say, we can’t rely on anybody having precursor knowledge, it’s really assuming. You’re showing up for cool action adventure game. We want you to fall in love with these heroes for the first time, or want you to fall in love with them all over again.”

Chris was born in the early 80’s along with the very birth of home gaming. After spending many maaany drachmas on arcades, his father decided to buy him a PC instead of going bankrupt. He lived through the advancing and development of the gaming industry, having played TONS of games on all platforms. He is always honest and will never hesitate to give his true opinion on a game no matter what. Loves stealth games and dislikes microtsansactions, DLC and pre-ordering…who doesn’t after all?!
