Cloud Imperium has just released Star Citizen Alpha 4.0 Preview. This new preview version of Star Citizen will contain all the new technology, locations, features, and ships that the devs have added. At the same time, it will run alongside the previous Alpha 3.24.3 version. As such, those who do not want to preview it can still play the older version.
Version 4.0 introduces the second star system for Star Citizen. This new star system has six vast planets, six treacherous moons, and a wealth of space stations, asteroid bases, and other unique points of interest. Thus, players will explore the system, take on its inhabitants, and make the most of a system without UEE interference.
Alpha 4.0 also introduces the Server Meshing tech. Alongside enabling up to 500 players to share the same universe, Server Meshing delivers improved persistence, better performance in busy locations, and near-limitless freedom to add additional content and locations in the future.
This new version of Star Citizen also introduces a way to travel across the galaxy. So, players can now use jump points which are natural tunnels between systems.
Not only that but Alpha 4.0 aims to overhaul the game’s economy. Plus, players can expect better loot. For Pyro, the devs focused on the high-risk, high-reward concept with new mineables and unique rewards within contested zones. Pyro outposts are now filled with contextual items suited to the harsh environment, along with rare items for those brave enough to explore the system’s most dangerous reaches.
Below, you can find a new trailer for Star Citizen Alpha 4.0 Preview. So, make sure to watch it as it will give you an idea of what state the game currently is.
