Now here is something truly hilarious. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and WWE 2K20 are currently not launching at all for all PC gamers. According to numerous reports, PC gamers are crashing to desktop while trying running these two games. From the looks of it, this is mainly caused by the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. However, there is a workaround for this issue.
All you have to do is set your PC system date one day back. In other words, set it to December 31st. Once you do that, you will be able to launch and play the game. Some gamers claim that after using this workaround, they were able to then play the games with a proper date.
From what we’ve seen, this issue mainly affects Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and WWE 2K20. Other games that are using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, like Monster Hunter World and CODE VEIN, seem to be working correctly. There are also some reports about launching issues with Assassin’s Creed Origins, though they are not as many as those for Fallen Order and WWE 2K20.
Our guess is that 2K Games and Respawn will release new patches that will resolve these Denuvo issues with their games in the next couple of days. Still, it’s really hilarious witnessing such bugs in 2020.
UPDATE:
After further investigation, it appears that this issue is NOT related to Denuvo. After all, WWE 2K20 uses Steamworks instead of Denuvo. Both EA and 2K Games have not commented yet on this issue.
UPDATE 2:
After receiving numerous emails, we went ahead and re-installed the game. We were able to run Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Origin without the need to change the date of our PC system. On the other hand, there is a number of Steam users that is still experiencing this issue. Some users claimed that this happens only on the pirated version, while other users are claiming that this issue happens on both the pirated and the Steam/Origin versions.
