Super Meat Boy was one of the best – and most frustrating – platforms in recent years and we’ve waited patiently for a DLC, an expansion or even a sequel to it. You see, Super Meat Boy is something unique that you either love or hate. And we are happy to report that in the coming weeks, Team Meat will announce a new Super Meat Boy game.
A couple of hours ago, Team Meat hinted that their Twitter account ‘might have a rebirth in the coming days‘. Of course this is nothing much to go by and Notch responded, wondering if this new rebirth had anything to do with SMB2.
Edmund McMillen, Co-CEO of Team Meat, responded and said that this new project would be called SMBO. Now before jumping around like crazy little kids, this could very well be a port of the first Super Meat Boy game. Perhaps it’s coming to OSX (that would explain the O at the end)? Or is this a prequel game (with O meaning Origins)? One can only guess, so hold your horses for the time being.
We’ll make sure to keep you informed about this SMB game, so stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
