Bandai Namco has shared the Gamescom 2023 trailer for Tekken 8. Additionally, the publisher revealed that this fighting game will officially release on January 26th, 2024.
Tekken 8 will not be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, and it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. However, from what we’ve seen so far, the game cannot match the quality of its reveal trailer.
Tekken 8 will have Rage System, Recoverable Gauge, and Heat System. According to the devs, this new Tekken game aims to make the battles more enjoyable for a player in attack. It will also make it easier for people to understand exciting battle moments and momentum shifts. And finally, the game will aim to enhance the character’s specialty and characteristics.
Since I’ve played the game’s Closed Network Testing, I can say that I really enjoyed this more aggressive gameplay. It definitely needs more polish and balance tweaks, but it was actually enjoyable.
Unfortunately, Tekken 8 had major shader compilation stutters on PC. So, let’s hope that Bandai Namco will do something to resolve them.
Enjoy!
