Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is the second racing game that is developed by Slightly Mad Studios, the team behind the Shift series and the upcoming Project CARS. And we bet that a lot of you are wondering whether this will be a sim or an arcade racing game. Well, it won’t be either of them – or both of them in a way – as according to Ian Bell, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends will be as close to a semi-sim racing game as it can possibly can.
Slightly Mad Studios is obviously not developing a hardcore sim game under the Test Drive alias. Ian Bell had the opportunity to try the latest build of that game and thought that the team currently has a great semi sim game. Slightly Mad Studios pushed as hard as they could to deliver the best – and acceptable from the publishers – balance between arcade and sim.
As Ian said at the official forum of WMDPortal:
“IMO it’s a great semi sim. Anything more hardcore (or as publishers refer to it, ‘less accessible’) and we wouldn’t have gotten acceptance.”
Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is currently slated for a May 31st release on current generation consoles and PC!
