CreSpirit has shared an official combat trailer for its upcoming metroidvania 2D game, TEVI. And while the game looks kind of cool, its title was cleverly used to remind you of one of the most highly anticipated triple-A games. But no, TEVI has NOTHING to do with The Elder Scrolls 6.
Now as we all know, The Elder Scrolls 6 is often referred to as TESVI. And… well… this new indie game is called TEVI. So yeah, it’s understandable that a lot of people will be initially confused. Seriously, imagine seeing an official combat trailer for TEVI, thinking its a gameplay trailer for TESVI, just to find out that it was TEVI and not TESVI.
At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone created a Hall Life 3 game. Or how about D00M? Perhaps a C0D? You get the point, right? While technically these titles have not been used, they clearly hint at specific games.
Anyway, TEVI promises to offer an action-adventure as you slash, dash, and combo your way through a sprawling land scarred by conflict. Players will explore and discover hidden secrets, and customize their build to triumph in spectacular boss fights.
The game looks really cool, but that name is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can give it more exposure. On the other hand, it makes the developers feel desperate. And that’s a shame as this doesn’t seem like a low-effort game.
CreSpirit plans to release TEVI in Q3 2023 on Steam.
Enjoy!
