In 2022, we informed you about Rebel Wolves, a new studio formed by former developers of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. And today, Bandai Namco released the debut trailer of their upcoming game, The Blood of Dawnwalker. So, let’s take a look at it, shall we?
The Blood of Dawnwalker will be a single-player open-world dark fantasy vampire action RPG. The game will be using Unreal Engine 5, and it will come out on current-gen platforms.
In the game, you play as Coen. Coen is a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night.
Players will use their skills and combine vampiric strength with human resolve as they take on a quest to save the ones they love. They will face their foes – be they human, monster, or the ticking clock itself.
And here is a crucial detail. According to the devs, players will have 30 in-game days to complete the main story. Moreover, time will move forward every time you do something important.
So, it remains to be seen how the devs will implement this feature. Will it be similar to Majora’s Mask in which you have a specific timeframe? Will there be a dynamic Time of Day that will affect the game? Or will there be fixed TODs that will only change every time you complete a main quest?
At the end of the trailer, you will also find some pre-alpha gameplay footage. Be warned though. This pre-alpha footage does not show much. So, don’t expect to be blown away.
Anyway, I’m all in for more single-player games. It’s also been a while since we got a vampire action RPG. So, here is hoping that Rebel Wolves will deliver a solid gaming experience.
