During PC Gaming’s E3 2015 conference, The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson revealed that the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War will be coming to the PC. And today, Fergusson told NVIDIA that this version won’t be a straight port of the Xbox One version. Also, Fergusson admitted that the PC version of the first Gears of War was just a port of the X360 version (thanks God it was not locked at 30fps).
As Fergusson told NVIDIA:
“In 2007 we released the PC version of Gears of War 1. And really it was a port. That’s not the case with the Ultimate Edition. It’s not a straight port. It’s actually taking all that power, using the power of the Xbox, getting 4K resolution which I’ve seen and looks amazing.”
PC gamers can expect better mouse+keyboard controls this time around, as well as support for 4K resolutions. The game will be exclusive to Windows 10 as it will be a DX12-only title.
The fact that The Coalition is working with NVIDIA could mean that some specific NVIDIA features will be revealed at later (or at least that’s our guess).
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
