I still remember those beta days of World In Conflict in which I suggested – in a live chat – Massive Entertainment to increase the environmental destructibility and add some more features to that spectacular visually strategy title. Massive Entertainment is no stranger to PC gaming, and seems committed to offering a truly great PC version of The Division – instead of a mere port from its console version. Or at least that’s what the development studio claimed a while back.
Spotted by MP1st, Massive Entertainment stated – in a recent Q&A – that The Division on the PC will be a full-fledged optimized version. As Massive Entertainment wrote on that Q&A:
“As you know, Masssive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC. You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”
Yes, we’ve heard that before but until we get our hands on it, we’ll give Massive Entertainment the benefit of doubt.
The Division is planned for a 2014 release on PC and next-gen consoles!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
