Modder ‘SilverScrublord’ has released a must-have mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This mod, that weights around 4.5GB in size, overhauls almost all of its textures by using AI Gigapixel. Since this mod is using AI techniques, the improved textures retain the original art design and direction, thus making it essential for all those that want to re-play this RPG.
As the modder noted, AI Gigapixel was used to quadrupled the size of almost every single texture in Oblivion (with the exceptions being textures with Alpha maps and Bump maps). This basically means that the original 512×512 textures have been overhauled to 2048 x 2048 (4K) and 4096 x 4096 (8K).
In order to showcase the visual differences, SilverScrublord released some comparison screenshots that you can find below. As you can see, As we can see, the quality of some of the textures has been greatly improved, however there are also cases in which the visual improvement is not that big.
Still, and since this is a Texture Pack that most purists will appreciate, we strongly suggest downloading it from here.
Enjoy!
