Strategy and Arcade Shooting fans, we’ve got some good news for you today. Nyu Media and Wastelands Interactive have informed us about the success of their Kickstarter campaigns for The Tale of ALLTYNEX and Worlds of Magic, respectively.
Worlds of Magic has managed to hit its goal 7 days before the campaign’s end, while The Tale of ALLTYNEX has hit its goal 19 hours after the launch of its Kickstarter campaign. While this may seem incredible for The Tale of ALLTYNEX, we have to note that its initial goal was only $5K (compared to Worlds of Magic goal which was $30K).
The Tale of ALLTYNEX is a trilogy of arcade shooting games, created for the PC (Windows) by Japanese indie developer SITER SKAIN. All three games are legends in shmup / shooting game communities, both in Japan and overseas. Nyu Media is currently working with SITER SKAIN to bring the complete trilogy to gamers worldwide in English for the first time, and looks like it will accomplish that.
Worlds of Magic, on the other hand, is a genuine spiritual successor to the classic fantasy 4X games, with a D20 inspired tactical combat system.
Those interested can still back these projects up by visiting their Kickstarter pages here and here.
John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
