CD Projekt RED has just revealed that their amazing RPG, The Witcher 2, has sold 1.7 million copies thus far. Although this number is not as high as, let’s say Diablo III, it’s still impressive for a game that launched as a PC exclusive title. Let’s also not forget that CD Projekt RED is a small company – compared to other triple-A studios that need to sell more copies of their games to make a profit. CD Projekt RED is really happy with the game’s sales and it will be interesting to see how many copies did the X360 actually sell (as that was not revealed in today’s conference).
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition features an engrossing and very mature storyline that defines a new standard for realistic, non-linear game narration. With a mixture of beautiful visuals and dynamic action, The Witcher 2 puts players in a living and believable world. The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 is impeccably adapted for the console experience and delivers significant enhancements to the critically-acclaimed PC title. The game consists of 45 hours of gameplay in a single playthrough, including 4+ hours if never seen before quests and new gameplay and story elements.
Congratulations CD Projekt RED and good job PC gamers for supporting them!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
