YouTube’s member ‘ryslaw’ has shared a video, showcasing the E3 2004 build of the first The Witcher game. As ryslaw revealed, the game’s combat mechanics were inspired by another RPG called Summoner (in which you could chain attacks). This version was powered by the Aurora Engine that was used in Neverwinter Nights. It looks cool, so be sure to check it out. We’ve also included the first part of ryslaw’s “The Witcher History” in which he revealed that the game was originally meant to be a top-down RPG with a fully customized character. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
