Remember the amazing 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever? Oh I bet most of us we’d kill to play that version instead of what Gearbox and 3D Realms offered us. And since this isn’t going to happen anytime soon, Gambini & Mikko Sandt decided to recreate the maps featured in DNF’s 2001 trailer in Duke Nukem 3D. The end result is quite amazing (for a retro title), and you can view a trailer for it below. This mod is planned for an April 15th release, and even though the trailer was uploaded on April 1st, Gambini has added some screenshots to this mod’s ModDB page on April 4th. In other words, it seems legit so go ahead and enjoy the trailer!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
