Modder ‘Velanimus’ has released a brand new HD Texture Pack for Skyrim Special Edition, overhauling its grass and ground textures for all regions. This pack also provides a complete set of landscape and LOD textures on top of the grass models. Thus, the transition between the detailed and the LOD textures will be seamless.
Going into more details, this HD Texture Pack comes with dozens of new high-resolution grass textures, complemented by matching ground textures and pre-crafted, fitting LODs. In addition, every region of Skyrim has its own look with different grasses and colors. To offer optimal performance, the grass models are mostly simple meshes and make use of hand-edited mip maps. As such, the grass fields now have a denser look (with even moderate density settings).
PC gamers can choose the full version (containing grass, ground textures, LOD) or an only-grass version. The modder suggests using the second one in case you are using other ground textures from other mods.
You can use the only-grass version with Skyrim 2020 Version 3.5 or Septentrional Landscapes SE. You can also use it with this 10GB AI-enhanced Texture Pack that overhauls all of the game’s textures.
On the other hand, the full version is compatible with Project Clarity – Creature Textures Redone and Project Clarity – Effects Textures Redone. You can also use it with the Project Clarity – Vanilla Clothing And Jewelry Textures Redone Mod. Additionally, you can use it with the Enhanced Blood Textures mod, which makes the game gorier and bloodier than ever. Furthermore, you can use it with this mod that overhauls its magic system by adding more than 200 new spells. Or you can use it with this mod that completely overhauls its enemy system.
You can download the Grass and Ground Overhaul SE Mod from here. Below you can also find some screenshots that showcase the new grass and ground textures!
