Modder ‘trevix’ has released a new mod for No Man’s Sky that completely removes its auto-aim functionalities from on foot and space firefights. As a result of that, and according to the modder, the combat will now be more engaging and fun, specially on space.
As the modder noted, space combat will now be considerably harder as players will really have to aim on the marker. On the other hand, things are not that difficult on foot as it now feels like most first-person or third-person shooters, though players will have to properly anticipate movement when their target is on the move.
To be honest, this is a really cool mod as we are certain that the auto-aim mechanics have frustrated a number of players. So while this will make the game more challenging, it will also make it more fun.
This mod is compatible with the game’s 1.59 version and its experimental builds, and those interested can download it from here.
You can install it by following this guide.
- Navigate to No Man’s Sky/GAMEDATA/PCBANKS
- Delete DisableMods.txt
- Create a folder called MODS
- Extract the desired .pak file to MODS
