Well, it’s quite hard to describe a game like Achron. It’s a real strategy game, it’s multiplayer focused and features time-travelling. Yeah, it’s one of those games that only indie developers have the guts to develop. And we have to admit that it sounds pretty interesting.
The game is designed to reinvent the real-time strategy genre by allowing all players to travel through time. As a result of that, players and units have the ability to jump to and play at different times simultaneously and independently. Time travel is free form and unlimited but it costs energy to change the time line. Players will be challenged to invent new strategies in a world where it is possible for them and their opponents to undo mistakes, change a strategy after committing to it, and alter the outcome of past battles.
Hazardous Software – developer of the game – announced today that they will be attending this year’s PAX and that the game will actually get released on August 29th. Those interested that can’t wait to get their hands on it can pre-purchase it and get access to its beta phase.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
