Torment fans, get ready to wet your pants as inXile has launched the Kickstarter campaign for its new Torment game, Torment: Tides of Numenera. Torment: Tides of Numenera is a story-driven CRPG crafted in the tradition of Planescape: Torment & set in the world of Monte Cook’s Numenera, will be DRM-free, and will be developed in the Unity engine for PC (Windows), Mac, and Linux platforms.
According to its Kickstarter description, Torment: Tides of Numenera continues the thematic legacy of Planescape: Torment, a critically acclaimed role-playing game from 1999 that’s considered by many to be a hallmark for storytelling in computer RPGs. With Torment, inXile is striving to create a rich role-playing experience that explores similar deep, personal themes.
Needless to say how excited we are about this. The team aims to raise $900K in the next month, a target that will be easily achieved in our opinion. Brian Fargo and inXile have shared a lot of information about this new Torment game on its Kickstarter page, so make sure to pay it a visit.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
