Hi-Rez Studios, independent developer of AAA free-to-play online games, today officially announced the release of the German version of its fast-paced, free-to-play multiplayer shooter Tribes: Ascend. Now graduating after several weeks in open beta, the German version includes a translated game client (excluding voice-overs) and German-speaking community support.
Todd Harris, COO of Hi-Rez Studios said:
“We know that one in five European Tribes players speaks German, and we’re aiming to give them the best possible service. Hi-Rez Studios plans further localizations of Tribes: Ascend in the latter half of the year.”
The German version launch includes the Marksman content update, which provides support for the Blitz game-mode on the Crossfire map, and new weapons for the Sentinel Class. Also included are new variants of the Spinfusor weapon for both the Soldier and Pathfinder, including the first full inheritance projectile weapon in the history of the four-game Tribes franchise.
The Pathfinder’s “Blinksfusor” is a disc-launcher with a projectile that inherits 100% of the player’s momentum, making the weapon challenging to use but useful in the hands of a skilled player. It was named after one of the best current Tribes: Ascend players, Blinks.
Enjoy!
