Amplitude Studios has announced that it plans to release its turn-based historical strategy game, Humankind, on August 17th. SEGA was originally planning to release the game in 2020, however, Amplitude needed more time in order to further polish.
In Humankind, players will be able to immerse themselves in the unique soundscapes of 11 different biomes that make up the Earth’s terrain. As players create and expand their cities, these soundscapes will be complemented by urban ambiance.
The game’s sound team traveled to various locations around the world to capture ambient sound. Moreover, it went as far as to record the noise of active volcanoes in Italy to represent the sound of Mount Vesuvius.
In Humankind, players will face historical events, lead renowned figures of humankind, and make scientific breakthroughs. Players will also discover the natural wonders of the world or build the most remarkable creations of humankind.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
