Ubisoft is working on multiple Assassin’s Creed Remakes

Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, confirmed that its company is working on multiple remakes of older Assassin’s Creed games. Yep, Ubi will do its best to capitalize on this franchise so that it can boost its revenue. This, of course, shouldn’t surprise anyone as every company is remaking its older titles.

Guillemot stated that AC fans can look forward to some remakes. These remakes will allow Ubi to revisit some of the games they’ve created in the past and modernize them. Ah, that word. Remake a game for a modern audience.

Ubisoft’s CEO claimed that their goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. In other words, pretty what happened with AC: Mirage, which was closer to the classic AC games.

As Yves Guillemot said:

“Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich. Secondly, to answer your question, there will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’re going to surprise people, I think.”

And there you have it, straight from Ubisoft’s CEO. There were rumors that the French company was working on a remake of the first Assassin’s Creed game. However, we can also assume that the team will remake Assassin’s Creed 2. After all, the Ezio trilogy was greatly successful.

I’m also curious to see whether Ubisoft will make any changes to the Desmond storyline in these remakes. In my opinion, Desmond’s story had a lot of potential. But, somewhere along the line, Ubisoft lost focus and didn’t know what to do with it. This is why the “modern setting” in all the latest AC games is their most boring aspect.

Oh, and before closing, in that interview, Guillemot did not talk at all about Splinter Cell Remake. Ubisoft announced Splinter Cell Remake in December 2021. And, since then, the only thing we’ve got are these artworks. And that’s it.

Anyway, stay tuned for more!
