Well, we all saw that coming, right? Still, it’s good to have an official confirmation about the lead platform of Watch Dogs. In an interview with InsideGamer, Ubisoft’s CEO confirmed that the PC is the lead platform for Watch Dogs and all other platforms will be getting a port from it. Yeap, this is the exact opposite of what is currently happening, so this is at least good news for all PC gamers. Why you ask? But because the game will – most probably – be better optimized on the PC.
As Ubisoft’s CEO told InsideGamer:
“We expect fewer problems with porting games to the PS4 than the PS3, which had a completely different infrastructure. Previously, we developed games first on the Xbox 360 and then translated them onto the PS3. It took a lot of time and money to port. Now we develop first on the PC and port to all other consoles.”
In addition, Ubisoft’s CEO confirmed that the PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier suffered from problems and was not ported ideally. As Yves Guillemot said, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier had a lot of problems and the PC version could be better managed.
Let’s hope that Ubisoft has learned from its mistakes!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
