SOEDESCO has announced that its upcoming 16-bit Zelda-inspired game, Airoheart, will release on September 30th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the publisher has also released a new gameplay trailer that you can find below.
Airoheart aims to adapt the deep and emotional storytelling of the Final Fantasy series with the style and charm of the early Legend of Zelda series. From the much-cherished top-down pixel perspective title of the mid-90s, it features old-school real-time combat, puzzles and platforming sequences in a huge open world.
Players will fight their way through dangerous monsters in real-time combat. As such, you can plant bombs, cast spells, drink potions, and overcome the dangers of Engard. Additionally, they will acquire weapons and armor, and learn magical abilities to overcome complex puzzles and unlock new areas to explore.
Airoheart has been in development since 2018 and was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2020. The game uses Unreal Engine 4, and looks nothing like what we’ve seen on that engine. It also looks really cool (especially if you fancy 16-bit visuals), so be sure to check it out.
Enjoy!
