Epic Games has released Hillside Sample Project; a virtual recreation of Moshe Safdie’s original vision for Montreal’s Habitat 67 in Unreal Engine 5.
Habitat 67 is a model community and housing complex in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, designed by Israeli-Canadian architect, Moshe Safdie. It is one of the most recognizable projects in modular urbanization and construction, partially because its vision for affordable future living was considered very ahead of its time. It is still a key landmark in Canadian architecture and is well-known throughout North America.
This Unreal Engine 5 Demo takes full advantage of Lumen, demonstrating what UE5 can achieve. It also pushes some truly amazing graphics, so be sure to download it from here.
A couple of days ago, we shared another tech demo for Unreal Engine 5. Created by MAWI United, that demo focused on a burned forest. And while it wasn’t as advanced as this Hillside Demo, it was pretty cool.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
