Sony has revealed another upcoming single-player PlayStation game which will require a PSN account on PC. As its official Epic Games Store page confirms, the remake of Until Dawn will require a PSN account.
From what I know, Until Dawn is purely a single-player game, without any online components. There isn’t any co-op mode, and even on PS4, you can’t play with P1 and P2.
Similarly to God of War: Ragnarok, Until Dawn Remake is a pure single-player game. And, like in the new GoW game, Sony will be forcing PSN on all PC gamers. Seriously, is Sony trying to sabotage its PC games? Because that’s the vibes I get.
What this ultimately means is that you’ll have to create and use a PSN account in order to play it. Not only that but the game will not be available in the 170+ countries that do not support PSN.
It’s funny when you think about Sony’s PR statement during the Helldivers 2 mess. Sony said it was listening to PC fans to learn what they wanted. But it looks like they didn’t really get the message. This shows that their PR statement was just trying to fix their image and nothing more.
What’s also ironic is that Ghost of Tsushima does not require a PSN account for its single-player mode. You can play GoT SP without a PSN account. In fact, that’s how I’m currently playing it. Apparently, though, that wasn’t enough for Sony.
And look, I get it when a PSN account is required for an online/multiplayer game. I’m totally fine with that. However, there is no reason at all to force this requirement in a single-player game.
Anyway, Sony also released a new gameplay trailer for Until Dawn Remake which you can find below.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
