Curve Studios has announced that Velocity Ultra touches down on the Steam Store on Thursday December 12th, priced at £6.99 / $9.99 / €8.99. Originally released simply as Velocity, the game had a full remake this year as a Vita exclusive and achieved some of the best review scores ever seen on the Sony portable.
Velocity Ultra is an arcade shooter that defies the convention of both terms, using the game’s unique teleportation mechanic to add an extra dimension to the action and a puzzle-like element without slowing down the pace.
Running on the PC at a smooth 60 FPS and featuring a phenomenal electronic soundtrack, it’s a game best viewed in motion, which the development team suggests doing right away.
Originally designed and developed by Brighton based FuturLab, it’s being brought to the PC by Curve Studios, the developer responsible for the elegantly named PC title ‘Stealth Bastard: Tactical Espionage Arsehole’ and published by Curve Digital, the indie publisher formed in 2013 that’s already published games like Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor on console formats.
The PC version features every single explosion, level and secret area as the PlayStation Vita original while taking advantage of customisable controls, and full Steamworks support including leaderboards, trading cards and achievements.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
