Microsoft has announced that the October 2018 update for Windows 10 has been re-released. This update came out a few days ago but was pulled since it was deleting files from the hard drives of those that had downloaded.
As Microsoft has publicly stated:
“On November 13, 2018, we will begin the re-release of the Windows 10 October Update (version 1809), Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server, version 1809. We encourage you to wait until the feature update is offered to your device automatically.”
This update will bring official support to DirectX RayTracing (DXR) so hopefully we’ll some patches for both Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Battlefield 5 in November or December.
The first DXR games will work with NVIDIA’s RTX technology as AMD does not plan to support real-time ray tracing effects anytime soon. RTX will make DirectX Raytracing run as efficiently as possible on NVIDIA’s hardware (which is the only GPU manufacturer right now that supports real-time ray tracing).

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
